MEASURING

They look like a serious marching force or forensic scientists after important clues. Neither of those. We investigated measuring to the point where we agreed on one objective way of carrying it out using uniform informal units.
Our first attempt.

How can you help your child this week?

  • Talk about what measuring is.
  • What are some things that you measure on a daily basis without even giving it a thought?
  • Measure their room using different units - feet, handspans, tape measures etc and discuss why the numbers are all different.
  • Next time while out and about, point out the variety of units of measurement - kg, L and km for a start.
